Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Topping
  • 2 cups apples peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

Prepare the Cookie Base
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Assemble the Skillet
  1. Spread the cookie dough evenly in a large oven-safe skillet.
  2. In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon.
  3. Layer the cinnamon apples over the cookie dough in the skillet.
  4. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apples.
Bake
  1. Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cookie base is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
