  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil leaves (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a large baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant, then add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, chopped basil, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  4. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce in the baking dish. Layer with lasagna noodles, half of the cheese mixture, more sauce, and repeat until all ingredients are used. Top with remaining mozzarella.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  6. Allow cooling for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
