  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 15 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and basil; let simmer.
  3. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling salted water until al dente (about 8 minutes). Drain and lay flat on parchment paper.
  4. In a baking dish, layer sauce at the bottom followed by noodles, dollops of ricotta, shredded mozzarella, more sauce; repeat until all ingredients are used.
  5. Top with remaining sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
