Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an ungreased baking dish.
  2. Unroll phyllo dough, covering it with a damp cloth to prevent drying.
  3. Layer six sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each with melted butter.
  4. In a bowl, mix chopped pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon; spread half over the layered phyllo.
  5. Add three more buttered phyllo sheets and repeat with remaining filling.
  6. Finish with several layers of buttered phyllo; cut into diamond shapes.
  7. Bake for about 45 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Meanwhile, boil water, honey, and lemon juice together to create syrup until thickened.
