  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup pure honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, ginger, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and brown sugar; mix well.
  2. Marinate chicken thighs in half of the marinade for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat with a bit of oil. Sear chicken thighs skin-side down for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Pour remaining marinade over the seared chicken; bring to a simmer for flavor infusion.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with rice or veggies.
