  • 1 cup plain or Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 small sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning until well mixed.
  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of at least 160°F (70°C).
  5. While the meatballs bake, slice sub rolls down the middle without cutting all the way through.
  6. After baking, place meatballs inside each roll. Top with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve warm.
