  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolk and vanilla, mixing until well combined.
  3. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms. If sticky, add a little more flour.
  4. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and place on the baking sheet two inches apart. Use your thumb to create an indentation in each dough ball.
  5. Fill each indentation with chocolate hazelnut spread.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
