  • 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Slice the russet potatoes into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream with minced garlic, salt, and pepper until just simmering.
  4. Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over them and sprinkle half of the Gruyère cheese on top.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
